Customs Specialist

What can you expect?

A global leader in automotive seating produces and delivers automotive seating for all major OEMs. Its expertise spans every step of the automotive seat-making process, from complete seating systems to individual foam, trim and metal components, research and design, engineering and manufacturing.

Hybrid working is offered, involving the possibility to work remotely for up to 3 days per week based on the agreement within the specific department.

Responsibilities

• Daily operational support with import and export customs operations in EMEA countries, including the creation of instructions for import and export customs clearance
• Application of customs classification, origin determination and customs valuation rules during customs clearance; basic knowledge is required
• Communication with plants, forwarders and customs brokers in English to obtain the data necessary for customs clearance or verify its correctness
• Working with customs systems after training
• Looking for data in SAP and other internal and external databases
• Preparation of various types of statements based on requests from customs authorities under supervision
• Verification and correction of customs declarations

Requirements

• Experience with customs compliance is an advantage, especially the creation of customs declarations and application of customs classification, origin determination and customs valuation rules
• Knowledge of the basic structure of customs processes is required: import, export and transit
• English: Intermediate level (B2)
• German language is an advantage
• Any other language is welcome
• Excel skills: Intermediate level
• SAP experience is an advantage
• IT affinity is welcome
• Good communication skills
• Flexibility in working hours
• Team player and capable of providing individual support when needed
• Open to learning new things
