The Local Guard Coordinator (LGC) is a Locally Employed (LE) staff member responsible for first-line oversight of the local guard contract, personnel, and resources. Under the direction of the Regional Security Officer (RSO) and/or the designated Assistant Regional Security Officer (ARSO), the LGC manages contract administration and oversees the local guard (LG) components of the facility defense and reaction plans for all U.S. Government facilities under Chief of Mission authority.
The LGC supports management of the local guard budget, coordinates security planning and drills for facilities and residences in collaboration with host-nation security forces and assists in developing logistical and financial plans. May serve as the Government Technical Monitor responsible for overseeing the local guard contract.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Work Experience: One (1) year of experience in budget management, fiscal processes, and contract administration within the commercial security guard industry, civilian or government police, or military. Education: Successful completion of at least two years of full-time post-secondary study at college or university. Language: English and Slovak - Lever 3 Good working knowledge
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong analytical skills with the ability to independently assess institutional capabilities and security systems. Proven ability to develop practical solutions and exercise sound judgment in complex or high-pressure situations. Ability to rapidly interpret real-time threat information and direct immediate defensive actions. Strong presentation and public speaking skills for engaging with contractors, security personnel, host-government officials, and mission leadership and other stakeholders as required in support of the LG program. Maintains self-control under pressure, especially during adversarial questioning or discussions involving host-government support or defending proposed budgets or operational procedures. Basic proficiency in the safe use of security protective equipment, such as handcuffs and radios. Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
