This role is within Centre of Excellence and is part of a new Reinsurance Operations team supporting a UK-based specialist (Re) Insurance client company. This role involves assisting with analysis, reporting, and controls to ensure effective management of reinsurance activities. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their skills in reinsurance accounting.

- Learn and take responsibility for the administration of a defined part of the client’s reinsurance programs, including the following types of reinsurance:
- Facultative
- Proportional
- Excess of loss
- Ownership of the client’s credit control process across Ceded Reinsurance; engaging regularly with brokers, ensuring outstanding premium and claims balances are settled in a timely manner and that aged debt is appropriately reported.
- Participation on the monthly Credit Control Committee
- Entering Facultative and Excess of Loss contracts onto the client’s systems
- Operate the quarterly and annual accounting process for certain proportional treaty accounts.
- Issue debiting instructions to brokers for the payment of reinsurance premium through the LORS (Lloyd’s Outward Reinsurance Scheme) platform
- Take ownership over the daily processing and allocation of LORS transactions.
- Review unactioned / unallocated items on LORS, and take appropriate action.
- Respond to reinsurer queries and liaise with client Claims Managers through the Reinsurance Query Database
- Ensure claim movements are being correctly ceded
- Collate data and prepare papers on behalf of Ceded RI for recurring Committee meetings attended by the Operation Manager and the Reporting Manager.
