As a Junior Credit and Risk Analyst, you will play an important role in supporting the management of credit, fraud, and compliance risks across our merchant acquiring portfolio.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in card payments, financial risk analysis, and fraud prevention. You will work closely with experienced colleagues and gain exposure to a wide range of companies, business models, and industries across Central Europe.
Main responsibilities include:
• Supporting the assessment of credit and fraud risk exposure within the merchant acquiring portfolio. • Reviewing new and existing merchant accounts by analysing their business model, financial position, creditworthiness, and payment activity. • Assisting with the review of financial statements, credit information, ownership structures, and other relevant documentation to identify potential risks. • Monitoring merchant transaction activity and investigating unusual processing patterns, refunds, chargebacks, and other indicators of increased exposure. • Helping ensure that merchant activities comply with rules, internal risk policies, and regulatory requirements. • Identifying prohibited, restricted, or higher-risk business activities and escalating findings where appropriate. • Supporting business partners and sales teams by providing information on card payment risks, policies, and best practices. • Participating in risk reviews, investigations, and ongoing monitoring activities while developing expertise in credit and risk management.

Personality requirements and skills We are looking for someone who: • Enjoys analytical work and can evaluate information in a structured way. • Is interested in developing expertise in risk assessment, compliance, and financial decision-making. • Demonstrate effective and professional communication skills. • Is able to explain processes and requirements clearly to clients and colleagues. • Holds a degree in finance, economics, law or a related field. • Previous experience gained through internships, student projects, part-time work, or entry-level roles in areas such as fraud prevention, merchant acquiring, credit risk, accounting, finance, or customer service is an advantage, but not required. • Has good written and verbal skills in English; knowledge of Hungarian or another Central European language is an advantage. • Is motivated to learn and build a career in credit and risk analysis.
