The Role

Through your role you will be responsible on the following areas:

• Develops, implements and maintains one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc.
• Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations.
• Balances books and prepares profit and loss, cash flow, income and balance sheet statements.
• Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects.
• Provides a record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions.

Required Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (local accounting certification is a strong advantage).
• Solid experience in Bulgarian statutory accounting and local bookkeeping.
• Strong knowledge of Bulgarian GAAP, tax requirements, and statutory compliance obligations.
• Experience working with monthly accounting cycles and local ledger maintenance.
• Ability to understand and reconcile differences between local GAAP and US GAAP.
• Proficient in and experienced with ERP systems.
• High attention to detail and ability to work with tight deadlines and regulatory timelines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with both local and global stakeholders.
• Fluency in Bulgarian and English required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting statutory audits and tax audits in Bulgaria.
• Exposure to multinational environments and group reporting structures.
• Familiarity with SAF-T reporting requirements and local compliance frameworks.
• Experience in process improvement or transition of accounting activities from external providers.
